The owner and management team at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Downtown Sacramento wanted to foster a special experience in this elegant hotel, where many guests stay for extended periods. They wanted to evoke a feeling of home, and to deepen the connection between staff and guests.  

ACS helped finish out the lobby renovation by creating a unique collection of commissioned pieces that stimulate conversation with plaques sharing the interesting stories behind the artwork and artists. Each piece was commissioned to represent, in its own way, the essence of the city of Sacramento and its rich history. The colors and imagery represent the confluence of the city’s two rivers, the lush foliage, surrounding mountains, and Sacramento’s growth dating back to the California Gold Rush.
