For Kaiser Permanente’s newly constructed West Los Angeles Sports Medicine Clinic, our vision was to create a collection that reflects the energy, movement, and diversity of the athletes and active individuals the clinic serves. The sweeping elliptical wall provided an ideal opportunity for a custom commissioned sculpture composed of 500 color-shifting lenticular elements. As patients travel from the elevator to reception, the piece transforms with every step, creating a dynamic experience that celebrates motion and vitality.

Throughout the space, the collection draws inspiration from Southern California’s distinctive culture and athletic spirit. A featured local artist pays tribute to the region’s graffiti heritage. Her work is inspired by the spray-painted trains that travel the coastline, capturing a sense of movement and grit of the local area. Nearby, a series of aerial basketball court photographs introduces vibrant color and playful geometry, complementing the clinic’s interior finishes.

In recognition of the clinic’s partnership with the Los Angeles Clippers, framed jerseys anchor key spaces with a sense of local pride and community connection. To further celebrate the many sports programs and athletic pursuits found throughout the region, dynamic abstract photography depicting a variety of athletes and activities completes the collection.

Together, the artworks create an engaging visual journey that inspires movement and reflects the vibrant character of West Los Angeles.
